# Navigation

Navigating MyGuide is as easy as a single tap!

### Tab Bar

Use the tab bar to navigate MyGuide. To access other tabs, tap on the icons at the bottom of the screen.

# Tab List

Below is a list and overview of each Tab.

### Play Tab

The Play Tab focuses on your scheduled and favorite guides.&#x20;

Scheduled guides will appear in the "Today" section on the day the guides are scheduled to be played. If you do not have MyGuide open on your device, you will receive a device notification when your scheduled guides are meant to be played.

You can assign guides to play at specific times in the "Schedule" section. You can also see all scheduled guides associated with your account. If you have a Guardian account, this includes assigned guides for your guarded accounts.

You can add your favorite guides to the Play Tab. Find the guide you like, open the choice menu on the guide, and select more. Scroll down until you see the "star" and tap on it. Return to the Play Tab and navigate to the "Favorites" section to view your Favorites list.

### Library Tab

The Library Tab will show you all the libraries that you are connected to. This includes your personal library, the public library, and any other library you have been invited to join.

### Me Tab

The Me Tab allows you to view and manage your user information; manage your MyGuide settings, where you can customize exactly how MyGuide responds to you, including the appearance, functionality, and editing level preferences, as well as many others; and access Live Monitoring, Custom Reports, and aggregated Reports for your account, as well as for any account you are permitted to view reports from.&#x20;

You can also manage Contacts and Guardianship here. If you have a Guardian account, you can access the Passthrough feature here for your guarded accounts. You can also find access to the user manual, check for MyGuide updates, and report a problem on MyGuide by tapping the "Support & Info" button on the "Account" page.

# Guides

It all starts with Guides

Guides consist of an interactive series of pages that can prompt, inform, and exchange information with a MyGuide user. They can be used for task oriented lessons, self-expression questionnaires, checklists, and many more functions. They are entirely customizable to reflect the wants and needs of the user. Guides can be placed into [Shelves](/content/shelves). They can also be copied and shared, to and from other shelves and libraries.&#x20;

## Playing Guides

Play guides to have fun or help you with activities, making decisions, and expressing yourself. To play a guide, tap the cover of the guide. When a panel of options pops up, choose "Play".

## Creating Guides

If you want to create a new guide, open one of your shelves, or a shelf you have [permission](/content/shelves#shelf-permissions) to edit. Tap the plus button in the bottom right corner of the shelf. The cover page of a new guide will open for you to begin.

## Editing Guides

If you want to edit an existing guide, tap the cover of a guide on your shelf. When a panel of options appears, tap "Edit". The cover page of the guide will appear, and you can edit the contents by swiping through the pages, or using the arrows in the bottom corners.

## Cover Page

When you create or edit a guide, you will start on the cover page. This is what you see when you find it on a shelf.

### Renaming a Guide

To rename the guide, tap the pencil to the right of the name.

### Change the Spine Color

Notice on the shelf view, each guide has a "spine" color. To change this, while editing the cover page of a guide, tap the paint palette under the name of the guide.&#x20;

## Editing Task Pages

Guide content is created or edited on task pages. Swipe or tap the arrows in the bottom corners to switch between task pages. &#x20;

While editing a guide, anything you tap will react to you in some way, by either taking you to different areas on the page or in the guide, or opening up customization panels.

### Choose Content

There are many ways to fill a guide with content. By adding [Content Plugins](/content/guides/plugins#content), you can provide a page with information, prompts, questions and more. To begin adding plugins, tap the Add Content button on the center of any task page.

### Choose a Background&#x20;

To edit the background, tap any open space on the task page. Another menu will appear and allow you to choose a [background plugin](/content/guides/plugins#background).

## Page Properties

While editing, you can adjust properties that affect the entire page. To do this, swipe down on a page to reach a new area. Once you have made your adjustments, swipe up or tap the down arrow to return to the task page.

### Page Modifiers

From the page properties area, you can add a [page modification](/content/guides/plugins#page-mods) that will affect the entire page. Tap Add Mod to see available page modifiers.

## Selecting Plugins

When you select and set your plugins, the option panel will adjust to reflect what you are editing. Every plugin, background, and modifier has their own list of customizable properties. To see these options, tap the content you want to edit to see the panel of properties for that plugin.

### Deleting Plugins

While editing, if you need to delete an existing plugin, tap it to open the panel of properties. Be sure you opened the desired plugin by checking the panel title, then tap the delete button to the right of that panel. The delete button looks like a trashcan. You can also delete [page mods](/content/guides/plugins#page-mods) and backgrounds the same way.

### Minimize the Properties Box

You can hide the current panel of properties of a selected plugin by tapping the X to the right of the delete button.

## Saving and Exiting the Editor

When you want to stop editing a guide, tap the big X in the top right corner of MyGuide. Your progress is automatically saved as you work, so you will not lose any editing progress.

# Plugins

All guide content is created with plugins.

## Content Plugins

Content plugins take up the foreground of task pages. They are intended to be the primary focus of guide content.

## Shelf Management

Guides are stored in shelves. Each shelf can have a title, description, color font and icon. Shelves also can contain multiple members. This is where [permissions ](/content/shelves#shelf-permissions)are managed - at the shelf level.

### Create a Shelf

To create a shelf, simply tap the + button in any library you have [permission ](/content/shelves#shelf-permissions)to create shelves in, supply a name, and done! This will take you into your new shelf.

### Shelf Settings

You can change various properties about a shelf through it's settings. Simply tap into any shelf, tap the menu button in the top right of your screen and tap settings.

## Shelf Member Management

You can manage members of your shelf by tapping on the user's card in shelf settings.

Each shelf member has permissions. These permissions control what the given member can or cannot do inside of the shelf.

### Invite Members

Invite people to your shelf by tapping the + button and entering their email address (associated with MyGuide). Prior to sending the invite, you will be prompted to set their shelf permission. When you are satisfied, be sure to tap the 'save' icon in the top right.

### Remove a Member

Simply tap on any member and tap remove member.

# Scheduling

Play Guides whenever you want!

### Schedule Guides

To schedule a guide, first head over to the Schedule Tab. Choose the account you want to assign a guide to, then tap the "plus" icon in the bottom right corner.

The Assignment panel determines which User you are scheduling a guide for, and the what guide you are assigning.

Next, assign the date and time for the Event.&#x20;

You can toggle the Repeat feature to assign a routine for a guide.


# XP

Experience Points

All of your time spent in MyGuide earns experience. You'll notice anywhere you see your user icon or user picture, a number appears in the bottom right.&#x20;

This is your current level of experience. It is another way to track your progress in MyGuide. The more time you spend playing or editing guides will increase your XP.&#x20;

You can also see this number actively increase after completing a guide.


# Reports

Every time you play a guide, a report is generated!

### Reports

To find aggregated reports, head to the Monitor Tab. You will see your own account, as well as any account that has invited you to view their reports. Tap a user name to view an overview of their reports.

Notice the drop-down in the top right of the overview. This is a list of all MyGuide events you can filter and view from the selected user.

For easy access to view their Guide Reports, tap the "Playing Guides" panel.

From here, pick the guide report you wish to view. The guide report is time and date stamped. It also records every page the user viewed, how long they spent on each page, and how long they spent replying to each question or interactive prompt on each page.&#x20;


# Live Monitoring

Follow along in real-time as users play guides!

If you have permission to see another user's reports, you can follow along in real-time as they play a guide. To do this, tap "Live Monitoring" from the Monitor Tab. Here, you will see a list of all active guides.

If you tap on one of the active guides, you can monitor generated reports from users as they complete each task-page within the guide.


# Custom Alerts

Send an SOS in real time!

Customized alerts can be texted or emailed to anyone the user wants when playing guides. To create an alert, head to the Monitor Tab, tap "Manage Alerts", then tap the "plus" icon in the bottom right.

You can assign which connected user sends a report, and from which shelf or guide. To determine what response sends an alert, tap "Contains any response." You can set the text filter here. Choose what response will trigger the alert to be sent.

To program the alert to be sent, tap "Add and Action". From here, you can determine if an email or a text message will be sent, and to whom it will be sent.


# Share Shelves

Don't worry! You get to control who can see your content!

Along with customizing shelf descriptions and appearances, you can share your shelf with other users. To do so, tap to open the shelf you want to share. Then tap the gear in the top right. Then tap the "Members" section.&#x20;

Here, you can see the list of users who currently have access to that shelf. You can tap user names to view and manage their permissions.&#x20;

By tapping the plus icon, you can add users by their email address. Tap "invite" to then determine their shelf permissions. Then tap the "save" icon in the top right.


# Guardianship

Guardians can help you manage your MyGuide.

Guardians are able to act on behalf of their guarded accounts to manage their account for them. To add a Guardian to your account, head to the Me Tab, and find the My Guardians panel. Tap the plus, and add the email address for the account you want as a Guardian.

If you are a Guardian of another account, find their name on the Guardianship panel. To access the guarded account, tap the user name and tap "Passthrough". MyGuide will now recognize you as that user.

To close a Passthrough, head back to the Me Tab, find the Passthrough panel, and tap "Close Passthrough."
